At Steam & Sail, we are passionate about delivering top-notch marine services through boat surveys, captain-for-hire and consulting services. With a wealth of knowledge and diverse marine experience, we are dedicated to providing professional services and setting new standards of excellence in all that we do.

Capt. Jojo Chacon-Lontin, SA

Jojo has worked in the marine industry since 2003. He got his start working on tall ships and has sailed the Great Lakes, Eastern Seaboard, Caribbean, Europe and west coast from California to Alaska. Jojo has a diverse marine background. Before becoming a marine surveyor he worked as the lead rigger of a 300-foot square rigger, commercial fisherman, and captained the first electric powered passenger vessel of its kind in San Francisco Bay. Jojo has a wealth of knowledge and leans on his diverse experience to tackle even the most complex of vessels. He is a lifelong learner and expert of his field with a keen attention to detail and excellent customer service. Jojo is a Surveyors Associate and member of SAMS, holds a USCG 100 Ton Near Coastal Masters License, an ABYC Certified Advisor and a graduate of Chapman School of Seamanship's Yacht and Small Craft Surveying program.

Tessa Diem

Tessa has been living and working on the water since 2012, promoting conservation, economic development and an appreciation of our water resources. Tessa brings a strong background in project management to Steam and Sail, with experience leading cross-functional teams and developing strategic partnerships for multi-stakeholder projects. Out of the office, Tessa has sailed in San Francisco Bay, the inside passage from Washington to Alaska, led research expeditions in Prince William Sound, and crewed for a sailboat in the Caribbean. Currently, Tessa manages the operations and marketing for Steam and Sail, utilizing her project management and design skills to grow the business and connect with our clients.
